Will Davies

Will Davies won the prize in 1999 for his creative potential as a jazz guitarist. Today he more than demonstrates that he's fulfilling that potential.

After reading Philosophy at Bristol he went on to complete a DPhil in Philosophy at Oxford, and is currently a Fellow at Churchill College Cambridge. But he maintains his role as a musician too and since 2008 has been a member of one of the UK's leading modern jazz groups, the Sam Crowe Group.

Their first album Synaesthesia was released in 2012, and their second album Towards the Center of Everything recorded in New York is now available to buy or download online.
