Michael Ajerman is an American artist who lives and works in London. He paints in oil on linen or aluminium, and watercolour on paper.

Ajerman has a remarkable ability to manipulate both vibrant and sombre colours to capture intriguing “what happened next” moments. The same piece can produce smiles in some viewers and alarm in others. With his work, nothing is ever quite certain. His art compels the viewer to come in and find out.

Born and raised in New York (b. 1977), he currently lives and works in London, and shows regularly in the UK, Italy, Israel and the USA.

He studied at the Slade School of Art in London, the New York Studio School and the Corcoran School in Washington DC.
